Summary: Make a long trek up the Arun Koshi, than climb over a high pass into the remote Barun valley, protected as Nepal’s newest national park. A rough trail leads past yak pastures and glaciers to the foot of makalu.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival to Kathmandu and travsfer to Hotel

Day 2: Sight Seeing in Kathmandu Valley and Prepare for Trekking

Day 3: Kathmandu – Tumlingtar By Flight

Day 4: Tumlingtar – Khandbari 4hrs.(1020m.)

Day 5: Khandbari – Chichila 5/6 hrs.(1840m.)

Day 6: Chichila – Num 5/6 hrs.(1500m.)

Day 7: Num – Seduwa 5 hrs. (1540m)

Day 8: Seduwa – Tashigaun 4/5hrs. (2070m.).

Day 9: Tashigaun – Khongma 5hrs. (3560m.)

Day 10: Khongma – Mumbuk 6hrs. (3550m.)

Day 11: Mumbuk – Yangle Kharka 4/5 hrs.(3600m.)

Day 12: Yangle Kharka – Merek 5hrs. (4570m.)

Day 13: Merek – Shersong 1:30hrs.(4660m.)

Day 14 Shersong – Makalu Base Camp 5000m. – Back to Shersong

Day 15: Shersong – Yangle Kharka 4/5 hrs.(3900m.)

Day 16: Yangle Kharka – Mumbuk 4 hrs. (3800m.)

Day 17: Mumbuk – Khongma 6 hrs.

Day 18: Khongma – Tashigaun 5hrs.

Day 19: Tashigaun – Num 6hrs.

Day 20: Num – Mani Bhanjyang 7/8 hrs.

Day 21: Mani Bhanjyang – Tumlingtar

Day 22: Tumlingtar – Kathmandu By Flight
