Langtang Valley Trek

Description:

Trip Cost: US$968

This trek is closest from Kathmandu where you could get the massive snow capped mountains and beautiful glaciers. Langtang valley trekking is also called the valley of glaciers trek. This valley is located only 19 miles north of Kathmandu. The whole valley is dominated by Mount Langtang Lirung (7246m) and offers pine forest, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow-capped peaks, grassy down and meadows.  On our trek we start in the lower Langtang Valley, trekking through its forests and among the villages and farmlands of its people, many of who are of Tibetan origin. Once an important trading route with Tibet, this influence is reflected in the character of the villages and peoples. During part of the trek you will be walking through National Park, and though wildlife is never easy to spot in a forest setting, there are chances of seeing some interesting animals and birds. Among those found in the park are monkeys, musk deer, pica and the national bird of Nepal, the colorful Pheasants. From Langtang village, the trail continues lead to Kyangjin Gompa , the site of the Yak Cheese Factory. From here, a continuation to the pastures of Langsisakharka provides the good views of numerous glaciers, mountain views and some huts.
