Ghandruk, the famous Gurung village at 2,010m (6,600ft), is located northwest of the lakeside city of Pokhara. It is accessible in one day, with a four to five hour walk after a short ride from the city. Given that the small village is on the much used trail to the Annapurna Sanctuary. It claims to be the most visited trekking area in Nepal, and is widely known and popular among international visitors. After opening the Pokhara-Baglung highway in the mid 1990s, Ghandruk (Ghandrung on some maps) has seen a gradual increase in domestic tourists as well.
Ghandruk trekking offer panoramic Himalayan views including Dhaulagiri 8167m,Nilgiri 7041m, Fishtail/Machhapuchhare 6998m, Annapurna I 8091m, Annapurna II 7939m , Annapurna III7555m, Annapurna IV 7525m, Annapurna south 7219m, Hiunchuli 6441m, Lamjung Himal 6986m, and more. We can see different type of Animals, birds, relaxing with mixed culture such as Bramin, Chhetri, Gurung, magars, Thakalies
The trail goes steeply up/down through the Green forest with the beautiful views of Annapurna Himalaya ranges, crystalline river and typical Nepali villages. Eventually, reach Ghandrung, one of the largest Gurung (ethnic people of Nepal) settlements in Western Nepal. They do have their own Museum, traditional culture and friendly people. You can have good views of Gangapura, Machapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna south, hiuchuli and other snow-capped mountains.
